After 27 years of working in all areas of Special Education I retired to Cambria on the Central Coast. In my paintings I hope my viewers will be taken away to a relaxed place as they reflect upon the fog laden coastal range or view something that they can identify with from their past experiences. I usually paint with oil but often experiment with other mediums. I belong to the Cambria Allied Arts Association, Cayucos Art Association, Paso Robles Art Association & San Luis Obispo Art Center.
After retirement she began her exploration of various art mediums. She has studied in the Emeritus classes at Cuesta College in Drawing, Acrylic, Oil, and Watercolor. In addition to this she has taken workshops from Elizabeth Tolley, Julia Seelos and Susan Jenkins. Plein Air painting with the Cambria Wednesday Irregulars has provided insightful critiques of her paintings and it is with their guidance, along with artist friends, that she attributes her growth as an artist.
Linda has been accepted into several juried shows in San Luis Obispo County , including the San Luis Art Center, Paso Robles Art Association and Cambria Allied Arts, winning the Audrey Coglin Award in 2006 and Honorary Mention in 2007 and 2008. Linda’s oil painting was featured on the cover of the Cambria University Women’s directory for 2005 and in April of 2009 she was the featured artist at Cambria Allied Arts Schoolhouse Gallery.
Linda also shows at special art shows (Pinedorado, Petals and Palettes, Friends of Fiscalini Ranch). She annually donates paintings to Greenspace, Friends of the Elephant Seals, University Women and the Cambria Art and Wine Festival.
